Our Millennium gift to Calgary in the year 2000 was the establishment of endowed scholarships: one at the University of Calgary and one at Mount Royal College.

In April, 1977, the Canadian Progress Club, "Calgary Eves", made history by becoming the first "all women" service club ever chartered in Canada. The Canadian Progress Club, a national organization, was chartered in 1922, with the first club being chartered in Toronto. We now boast clubs in most major cities from Victoria, BC to St. John's, Newfoundland.

Our motto is "It's Great to be a Canadian". Our Mission Statement is "Enhancing the lives of all Canadians through community services, in the spirit of fellowship". As a national organization we support the Canadian Special Olympics.

Clubs are autonomous and are free to support whichever local charities they desire. In Calgary in 1977 Aunts at Large, a "one-on-one" matching program for girls of single-parent families, was founded by the Calgary Eves. This dynamic group of women have given 31 years of service and financial assistance to the community through this program. In 1994 Aunts at Large merged with Uncles at Large and Big Brothers & Big Sisters to become one, as "Big Brother & Big Sisters of Calgary & Area" (formerly Aunts & Uncles at Large). Over the years our club has taken an active role in the management of the program. We are extremely proud of our involvement in such a successful program, which has now expanced to "couple matching" and he ever popular "in-school mentoring program".
